🤑 Money Shot: : Emergent raised $130 million in a Series C at a $1.5 billion valuation. The wild part is the speed. That is a five-fold jump from its $300 million valuation in January. Six months. The round was led by Creaegis, with Khosla Ventures, SoftBank's Vision Fund 2, Lightspeed and Y Combinator all back in.

📈 Trend with Benefits: The Union Cabinet approved Semicon 2.0 with an outlay of ₹1,27,500 crore. The government expects it to pull in around ₹4 lakh crore in investment and lead to ₹2 lakh crore of chip production over the scheme's life. It now covers the whole chain, right down to the gases and chemicals that go into making a chip.

The Takeaway: Under the first version, 105 startups have already started designing chips and 24 design projects got support. This is the government building an entire industry floor from scratch, and industries create supply chains, and supply chains create thousands of small businesses feeding them. When a ₹1.27 lakh crore door opens in a sector, the opportunity is rarely the headline company. It is the hundred smaller businesses that sell to it.

💰 Elevation Capital closed a $500 million India fund. The new fund is aimed specifically at backing AI startups.

✈️ Visafir launched an AI visa-prep platform. The 2025-founded startup uses an "AI plus human" verification model to prep visa documents for over 120 destinations.

📉 Patanjali Foods stock cratered 16%. The stock hit a fresh 52-week low on Wednesday. Note this is a listed FMCG major, not a startup.
